Held once again in Los Angeles at the iconic Hollywood Park, this year’s even was bigger, bolder and more groundbreaking than ever. Thousands of creators, marketers, teachers, team leads and tech lovers from all around the globe tuned in (or showed up) to get a glimpse of what’s next in the world of design and productivity. 

The theme of this year? “Uncharted.” and Canva sure lived up to it. From new AI-powered features and data-friendly tools to exciting partnerships (hello, Star Wars fans) and a few star-studded moments, this wasn’t just another tech conference. It was a celebration of creativity meeting capability.

Introducing Canva Sheets: Where data meets design

Even cooler? You can connect to tools like Google Analytics or HubSpot and watch your charts update in real time.

Canva’s new photo editor = your new favourite tool

Editing photos just got a major upgrade. 

The new Canva Photo Editor is all about power, speed, and ease. Whether you want to change a background, move objects around, or tweak lighting, you can do it all with just a click. AI-powered features let you generate new environments for your images and make precise adjustments without leaving your workflow.

A star-studded speaker lineup took the stage 

Canva Create wouldn’t be complete without some major inspiration. This year’s speakers included Cynthia Erivo, Jon Batispe and Daniela Amodei (co-founder of AI lab Anthropic), who all brought powerful messages around creativity, reinvention, and tech responsibility.

This year’s Apps Marketplace, powered by AWS, was buzzing. Brands like Amazon, Dropbox, Mailchimp, and LinkedIn showed up with tools and integrations that let creators work smarter and scale faster. 

Highlights included: 

  • Amazon Ads and Amazon Creators app demos 

  • Dropbox Dash for knowledge management 

  • LinkedIn Ads integration, complete with a $500 campaign credit 

Bonus: LinkedIn hosted a super fun challenge called Speed Meets Creativity, where creators had just 20 minutes to design a full ad campaign in Canva. No pressure, right.

Star Wards (finally) lands in Canva  

Cue the music. May the 4th comes early this year! Canva introduced over 180 Star Wars-themed templates, featuring fan favourites like Yoda, Leia, Darth Vader, and R2-D2.

  • Multi-page Canva Websites - Build bigger sites without switching platforms. 

  • New text effects, animation options, and smart layout tools - More ways to customise your brand content, faster. 

They even made it easier to manage brand kits and swap out global content. It’s a huge step forward for pros and power users.

An unforgettable musical grand finale 

Just when it seemed like every big wish had been granted, Canva made time for one more and this time, it came with a choir, a rap, a marching band, dancers, and a lot of confetti. 

What unfolded was a musical celebration of the community’s imagination - a theatrical, high-energy finale that brought 45 real product wishes to life on screen. With a 42-person cast, a live band, and a full choir filling the stage, it was Canva’s most unexpected product demo yet, turning feature launches into a full-blown performance.
